National Caramel Custard Day

October 3rd is celebrated as National Caramel Custard Day. Its also my Dads Birthday. He says, that may be the reason why he loves the dessert so much.

Caramel custard is a rich, flavourful desert that originated in Europe, France actually. They call it Creme Custard. The different variations of the classic dessert include vanilla, and lemon in the custard. I however
believe, there is no such thing as tasty as the Caramel flavoured dessert.

Now in the Spanish speaking countries, it is also known as "Flan". In Japan, its called "Purin" meaning Custard Pudding.

A great CC is firm, but quivers slightly when your spoon first goes in. It always slices easily without collapsing.
